Red Lion Cottage is set in the heart of the beautiful Teesdale village of Cotherstone. Newly refurbished, the cottage offers a combination of traditional country style with modern luxury and convenience.

Cotherstone is famous for its beautiful river walks along the banks of the River Tees and River Balder. Still standing is the 17thC Quaker House, which the Quaker founder, George Fox visited in 1653. Cotherstone Cheese is a locally made delicacy that you can sample in some of the local pubs.

Red Lion Cottage offers the following facilities: 4 bedrooms: 2 king size double rooms and 2 twin rooms. All rooms are tastefully decorated and are made up with Egyptian cotton sheets and duvets. Two bathrooms including a luxury bathroom with spa bath. The second bathroom offers an invigorating walk-in shower. Fully fitted kitchen with range cooker, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, panini maker. The kitchen is equipped to a high specification and would be enjoyed by all levels of cookery enthusiast! Living room with gas burning stove, large screen TV, with Freeview channels, state of the art hard disk recorder, DVD/CD player, DVD library, a wide selection of books, CDs, Playstation 2 games console plus games.

High speed wireless broadband is available. Cot, stair gate and highchair available on request. Enclosed courtyard and enclosed parking for 2 vehicles at the front of the cottage.

The cottage is situated next to the Red Lion Pub, a quiet friendly country pub. Only 150 metres away is the Fox and Hounds pub, which serves delicious food at lunchtimes and evenings 7 days a week. In between the 2 pubs is the village post office/shop/newsagent, which sells a good range of food and drink.

Public footpaths lead almost from the door into the beautiful surrounding countryside and down to the River Tees, which is only a 5-minute walk from the front door. In the immediate area there are walks for all types of walker.
