Waterside-tranquillity for couples, adventure for families (sleeps 5)

Waterside was built in 2006 in the beautiful conservation area which is the heart of the medieval village of Warkworth on the spectacular Northumberland coast. The house is part of a development which has quickly become established as part of the riverscape built, as it was, to resemble local fishermen's cottages.

The renowned salmon fishing river, the River Coquet with its teaming wildlife, flows past the fully enclosed river patio on its way out to sea at Amble.

The house is built on three floors with the master suite on the top floor, two bedrooms and a sitting room on the first floor and the kitchen /family room on the ground floor. There is a cloakroom with WC on the ground floor and the bathroom, with a separate shower, is on the top floor.

The door from the kitchen/family room leads outside to the river patio with has pretty lights, garden furniture, a built in barbecue. A raised garden, planted with herbs and scented climbing plants, provides an idyllic space to eat, read, or simply watch the river as it flows on its way through the village, past the marina and out to sea.

Warkworth is perfectly situated as a base for further travel. The village of Alnmouth, with its main line station is four miles away allowing for example, train trips to Newcastle (30 mins), York (2 hours), London (4.5 hours) and Edinburgh (1 hour). Newcastle International Airport may be reached in 40 minutes. There are regular buses to Alnwick ( for the famous Alnwick Garden) and the busy market town of Morpeth with its new shopping centre.

The beauty of the peaceful, golden beaches of Northumberland is whispered about across the world but there is no secret about the friendliness and hospitality of its people. Just the place to blow a few cobwebs away!
