Railston Cottage

Railston Cottage is situated in a quiet part of Seahouses but within easy walking distance of the harbour, shops, hotels, pubs and restaurants.
Approximately 2.5 miles from Bamburgh to the north and Beadnell to the south where beaches of golden sand are in abundance, the extensive sandy beaches and dunes of Seahouses are only a short walk by road or through a designated field path, almost to the beach.
Railston Cottage is traditionally stone built with the added bonus of a secluded walled and very private sun trap garden which is accessed from the sun room or kitchen. Built in approximately 1820 the property has undergone major refurbishment in 2009, and now offers 3 double en suite bedrooms, 2 on the first floor and one on the ground floor with direct access out to the garden via patio doors. The ground floor bedroom has been designed with a wet room style bathroom roomy enough for wheelchair access. The whole of the ground floor is tiled with under floor heating in kitchen/diner snug lounge and sunroom. The snug lounge also has a wood burning stove, ideal when the nights become cooler. Utility room has access to a lane and houses the washing machine and fridge freezer with space for outdoor shoes and clothing.
The cottage is all-electric and the cost is included in the price, which also includes all the bed linen, towels and tea towels, plus a welcome pack for late arrivals.
Railston Cottage has been comprehensively equipped with the comfort of guests paramount, with that in mind, we do not allow smoking in the house or pets of any kind.
There is parking for 2 vehicles, with on road parking close by for other vehicles.
The cottage is well based for touring the Northumberland coast and Berwick upon Tweed to the north. Alnwick, with its fabulous Castle and renowned Gardens is only 15 minutes' drive away by car and the Farne Islands are easily accessed from Seahouses harbour where many boats offer daily trips to the Farne Islands and the Holy Island of Lindisfarne is only a short car journey to the north.
